Gate is an API governance platform split into a data plane, a control plane, and an observability plane. Edge proxies client traffic through a middleware pipeline for auth, CORS, response caching, and rate limiting, backed by Redis. Hub validates gateway configuration, manages subscription tiers, and coordinates authoritative quota leases, pushing tier updates to every Edge instance over NATS. Analytics consumes request events from NATS, stores them in ClickHouse, and serves summaries, time series, and a dashboard. The stack ships with Docker deployments, a live traffic simulator, and unit, race, and integration tests.
